As the dust settles on the Westgate terror attack, many breathe a sigh of relief but many others start a life of coping. Coping with the loss of loved ones. Coping with fear of such happening again. Coping with the fear of ever going to the Westgate mall again. I am dealing with my own fears and questions too and i’m not hear to offer solutions. I just want to take these next few days to mourn with the mourning, not because it shall even help them directly, but because I know not what else to do. I shall cope the way I know how to, with images that speak what I want to say.
I shall stand in prayer with the mourning. I shall pray for comfort for the bereaved, that one day, all this shall make whatever sense. I shall pray that this gets us closer as a nation and not divided. I pray that we may look out for our brothers and sisters because we are one. That we shall speak in confidence against oppression in this country whether or not we know the victims. That justice really may be our shield and defender.
Above all, I shall take a moment and mourn with you. Because we are one.
